An iconic painted row house made famous by Instagram has just hit the market in a quaint seaside town of Cobh. Located on the southern coast of County Cork in western Ireland. Formerly known as Queenstown, Cobh (pronounced “Cove” not “Cobe”) is also famous as the last port of call for the Titanic in 1912.

 

Built in 1850, the colorful cluster of 23 "Deck of Cards" row houses was designed by Queen Victoria's architect, and is also known as "West View". Easily one of the most recognizable features of the city (if not all of Ireland), an Instagram hashtag search of #Cobh shows over 127K posts, the majority of which are these sloping ladies!
 

The house that has come on the market is the last one, closest to the center of town, and boasts St. Colman’s Cathedral as its backdrop. And while it's a protected structure, the interior is in need of updating (at least $50k in cosmetic upgrades. More, if there are any major mechanical or plumbing issues)

This gem could make a tremendous investment property as a short term vacation rental (with the much needed renovations mentioned above). We found two homes from this famous block listed on Airbnb that command over $300/night, and AirDNA "MarketMinder" data shows that the area has over 71% occupancy rate.
